A person can be charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance if that person operates or permits another person to operate that vehicle without valid insurance. You may be liable to a fine of $5000 plus the 25% surcharge. For a subsequent conviction, the penalty is $10,000 plus the 25% surcharge. Additionally, if convicted of this offence, this may result in a potential suspension of your driver’s license for up to one year.
